Today, October 6, 2024, a terrorist attack occurred at the central bus station in Be’er Sheva, Israel. An armed attacker, identified as Ahmad al-Uqbi, a 29-year-old Israeli of Bedouin origin, attacked people with a firearm and injured ten people. A 25-year-old female border police officer was fatally wounded in the attack. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, including one person in serious condition and four others with moderate injuries. The perpetrator, who is a relative of a previous perpetrator from a similar attack in 2015, was shot dead by security forces.
The incident occurred in three different areas of the bus station, causing panic among passers-by. Rescue workers, including the Israeli Red Cross and volunteers from United Hatzalah, immediately provided first aid and tended to the injured at the scene before transporting them to hospitals.
